Gamer Girl Calendar
At the end of last year I thought of reviving my old column at the gaming magazine and re-introduce the idea of the “Gamer Girls”. Main goal of the column was to show readers that female gamers are out there, in every genre, at every age, with family, with a fulltime job, etc. The main part consisted of an interview that allowed the gamer girls to not only introduce themselves but also tell the readers more about their interests.
When I started my blog I wanted to add this category to my recurring blog-posts – introducing female gamers all over the globe. At the same time the widely known and adored Betty Page unfortunately passed away and this unfortunate event combined with my idea to introduce the gamer girls gave a friend of mine the idea to combine those two medias and create a gamer girl pin up calendar.
Not the most innovative idea, I agree, but having fun with a private project does not always need a re-invention of the wheel. All it takes is the potential to have fun during the creative process and output, that we can be proud of.
While having fun during the project it became more and more obvious and important that there is need to break certain stereotypes about female gamers. They do not fit into the common nerd-stereotypes, are not unattractive, unshowered, illiterate, uneducated, without manners and only spend their time in front of their gaming machinerie. Most of them are well educated, very beautiful in their own way, strong individuals with a srong opinion, self-confident, interested and active in more than one field and successful in their jobs and happy in their relationships.
Each and every participant of the project chooses the setting, in which she wants to present herself and her hobby. Be it computer games, board games, pen&paper, console, LARP – the interests and fields of activity are manigfold as are the participants.
With this rather uninventive idea we would like to make a point – we like what we are, we like, who we are, we are not a myth, we exist and we are decent human beings.
Take a look at yourself, the following pages give you an overview of what has been posted so far on this topic.

How a calendar causes controversy
And here are the so far publishes pictures:
(little bit about me and how i got here)
so i’ve been heavily moving into the realm of MMOs for a couple of weeks now, i saw a mmo that said something about the possible falling in love online, and saw a screenshot of the game with 2 cute characters kissing and getting married, so i typed in love in MMOs, to see if there was an mmo made to help people fall in love and 1 link brought me here.
I think the idea of a gamer girl calendar is a great idea, as well as the gamer boy calendar, and yes i would not mind being immortalized in your calendar, im 33, 5′4″, 140lb, long salt and pepper hair, and a charming smile, not a bad little package. im assuming the callendar will feature tastefull pics of gamers fully clothed (women especially) or in some kind of gaming attire, or will their be semi-nudity (guys like myself) shownig bare chests and legs (obviously no genetalia)? if you would like me to model for your calendar please e-mail me;)
