Gamer Girl May

01Jun09

Before I present you the new gamer girl I would like to apologize for the long break. Work is getting in the way and it seems as if crunch-mode might last until September. Just to be warned – this could mean that the upcoming presentations might take a while as well. I will provide you with further information on the project – there might be a change in format and concept. I won’t give away too much.

But now on to another gamer girl and her presentation.

Sounds a lot – is a lot ; )

What made you choose this set up?
I am no early starter on the GTA but in 2001 when I lived in England my boyfriend and his work colleagues were well into Grand Theft Auto III.

One evening I had a night in with the girls and we four confiscated the console. I tell you – we were worse than the guys – no car was safe from us! If it was a guy playing the part or not – we had quite some fun * cheeky grin *

So anyhow, we had our fun and then, a couple of weeks later this guy from work came up with the idea of a „Games-become-real“-party. Guess what we girls did… Exactly! We got dressed! And She * Cathaluna points to the picture * was whom I represented then. A tribute to GTA :)

What games do you play?
I am lucky to have a Mum that got well into PacMan on the (meanwhile ancient) Atari. I still play it with her and she is well good at it ; ) Olympic Games was another one my cousin and I played until we would scratch each others eyes out… – but that is another story : ) – so much for the „old days“.

My real gaming history started with traveling by public transport – seriously!

To start with – nearly any fun/challenge/brain taxing games that kind of work in between takes my fancy. At the beginning it was Snake – I know, I know, not the most challenging but it gave me a start : ) No wonder that I got myself an iPod and iPhone as soon as I could lay my hands on them.

After having played on consoles I discovered online gaming for myself:

And still, when I’ve got time I virtually jump into my leather amour, wrap it around my extremly thin waist and wonder in the end why all of a sudden my ears are so big but elegant, my eyes glow and why I have an energy tickle on my palm. The answer: I am a druid nightelf in World of Warcraft ; )

And when I want to pretend to be an interior designer … guess what … too easy right? Yes, yes, I admit it: SIMs! Looking forward to the third version this year * when they finally get it done! *

What do you find interesting about it?
Gaming for me is the perfect sit in or party-time. May it be an online game where I can interact with others, get challenged and enjoy the teamplay or to call up a bunch of people to do the same and enjoy gaming a different way.

And sometimes it’s just about turning on my machine and diving into a lazy day with the game I fancy the most at that moment, doing nothing but building cities, families, completing quests or – for my part – getting the most out of a bike-stunt : ) without breaking your neck in real life over it. * it’s healthier that way I guess ; ) *

I think because I am not an every-day-all-day gamer I can enjoy the flexibility in gaming. You are at home, you are out and about and at any time and place it suits you, you can dive into a different world – and sometimes I dive so deep, that I forget the time and only have a couple of hours to sleep before I need to be at work * oops *
